About Farm-stay and English Language Study Courses

New Zealand Farm AnimalsNew Zealand is well known for its diverse farming. The best way to experience this unique way of life is to live it yourself on one of over 400 farms around the country.

After you finish your English language course, or during your holidays, selected New Zealand English Schools will arrange your farm experience (they require a minimum 4 weeks of English study).

You choose what part of New Zealand you would like to visit and what kind of farm you would like to live on, and then you can stay from three days to two weeks, or more.

Your room and board is free in exchange for 4 to 6 hours of help per day. Your English will continue to improve as you live and communicate with your host family at meal times and during family activities. Your English language will also improve as you help in and around the house, garden, paddocks (fields) and tend the animals with co-workers and family. It will be a unique and exciting experience.

The sponsoring English language school will provide membership in a farm help organization. They will reserve and book your farm-stay experience as well as arrange your arrival and departure transportation to and from the farm.

Contact us here if you'd like more information about farm-stays and English language opportunities in New Zealand.
