About TEFL International
TEFL International is externally validated and moderated by IATQUO (International Association of TESOL Qualifying Organizations) and certified to meet nternational standards. We regularly invite visits from industry professionals including, most recently, Sandra Silberstein of University of Washington. History of TEFL InternationalTEFL International was established as a Trinity TESOL Certificate course back in January, 1998. After quickly becoming one of the largest and most successful Trinity courses in the world, TEFL International, one of the founding members of IATQUO, became independent. The University of Washington, USA became the first US university to grant credit to matriculated students for completion of the TEFL International course (Dec 2000). In May 2001, TEFL International opened a center offering TESOL Certificate courses in Zhuhai, Peoples Republic of China, in cooperation with the Gateway Language Village. In November 2001, the Ban Phe, Thailand course doubled its capacity to allow as many as 32 students to study in two simultaneous courses. February 2002 saw Via Lingua Phuket, Thailand change its affiliation and became a TEFL International course. From March 2002 to the present, TEFL International has opened several course locations around the world to include Seville, Spain and Rome, Italy.
TEFL International offers a variety of programs to choose from, all of which are internationally accredited and recognized by organizations and institutions across the globe. TEFL International Certificates are accepted throughout the world and the job placement assistance program will ensure you have a job for life. You will find that all of the programs are reasonably priced (in most cases the lowest in the industry) and include private accommodation. TEFL International TESOL CertificateThis is an internationally recognized 120 hour TESOL Certificate course. This course provides a solid foundation with the skills necessary to teach English as a Second Language around the world. TEFL International TESOL DiplomaAn internationally recognized TESOL Diploma course. For those with two years or more of teaching experience who are looking to enhance their teaching skills and open more doors to opportunity within the ESL community. TEFL International Master of Education in Teaching English to Speaker of other Languages - MEd (TESOL).
Phase one of the program is the TEFL International TESOL certificate offered at locations all over the world. (6 credits) Alternate TESOL certificate programs can be accepted upon approval. Phase two of the program is the TEFL International TESOL Diploma offered completely by Distance learning. (12 credits). The TESOL Diploma consists of four research projects in current topics in TESOL. Phase three of the program is a three-week seminar. (12 credits) This seminar takes place in Thailand and will cover the topics of Management, Evaluation and Research, Course Development and Integrated topics in TESOL. Upon completion of this three-week seminar you will return to your workplace and complete research papers on these subjects. Phase four consists of the development of one of your earlier research papers (from the Diploma or the Seminar) into a full thesis. Completion of all four phases results in an MEd in TESOL. Internships / Service Learning ProgramsA combination of TEFL International's globally recognized TESOL Certificate course plus an international internship with an NGO, local school, community-based organization or business. TEFL International offers both credit-based and non-credit-based programs which are available through many universities. TEFL INternational can also work with you and your school to arrange a program for credit.
